BlizzCon 2017 started on Friday, November 3rd and completed on November 4th, in Anaheim, California. The convention allows fans to connect with each other and to show their gratitude for Blizzard and their games. Blizzard also uses the BlizzCon for announcements, such as the announcement of StarCraft II becoming free-to-play. Woohoo!

StarCraft II is free-to-play
StarCraft II will be free-to-play beginning on November 14th, 2017. Players will have free entry to the original single-player Wings of Liberty, where players can unlock StarCraft II’s multiplayer content for free.
If players already have Wings of Liberty, between November 8th and December 8th they can claim Heart of the Swarm for free.
Players will also have access to the ranked multiplayer ladder to compete in all the multiplayer units from Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm, and Legacy of the Void.
Players need to unlock this feature by earning 10 First Wins of the Day in Unranked or Versus A.I. Plus, any present and future Co-op Commanders can play for free up to level five, and the weekly mutations restrictions are eliminated. Raynor, Kerrigan, and Artanis Co-op Commanders will remain free to level-up.
New Co-op content
A new Co-op Commander is on the way; this time there are two characters. Matt Horner, a tactical Admiral of the Dominion Fleet and Mira Han, who commands the mercenary forces.
There will be a new Co-op Mission: Part and Parcel. The new mission is by Buswolly, who won the Rock the Cabinet, where players develop a Co-op theme map. Players on this mission will collect parts to repair a secret weapon. With the support of the secret weapon, the Balius, players will fight the new hybrid monstrosities.
Multi-player design changes
The objectives for the changes are to diminish the immediate game-ending moments, and the support units are useful in smaller numbers.
Protoss, The Shield Battery replaces The Mothership Core. This is to help players with defence.
Terran, The Raven has new abilities. The Repair Drone can heal the nearby mechanical units; the Anti-Armour Missile can deal splash damage which reduces the armour of the units the missile hits, along with an Interference Matrix which can prevent a unit from attacking or using its abilities.
Zerg, The Infestor is changing its abilities. The Fungal Growth won’t root enemies but will slow them down, thus allowing the players control when they get ensnared.
New War Chest 2
The second War Chest will have three new skins: Purifier Protoss, Primal Zerg, and Mira’s Marauders. The War Chest will have three issues of the Shadow Wars comics, continuing the story of Elms, Urun, and Nidra.
