The Japanese Pokemon YouTube channel has posted two-minute clip titled teasing something.

And on July the 19th, something will be revealed. I say something because the teaser is purposely trying to be as vague as it possibly can.

The short video is titled Pokémon Mystery File: A world of Pokémon you don’t know and that’s about all the information we can get.

It’s not even clear what game this is for as it splices together footage from various Pokemon games.

We’ve got Celebi’s appearance from Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver, the distortion world from Platinum and the endlessly creepy mysterious old man from Sun and Moon. What ties them all together is that each of these events are relatively unexplained within the lore of Pokemon.

Fortunately, there are a few blocks of text in Japanese and I just so happen to be fluent in Google Translate, so let’s see what they say:

“Is this a time slip? Is it manipulating time? It came from the moon? Is it a space virus? Is this an encounter with aliens?”

Well that doesn’t tell us anything. Maybe the next chunk will have a little more detail:

“The battle with the alien invader has begun! Is this the underside of this world? Is this a puzzle of ancient relics? Is this an attack from a parallel universe? Is it possessing humans?”

You know what, I give up.

The video ends with a group of Unown, one of the oldest and mysterious breeds of Pokemon that form an alphabet when arranged.

Together they spell out the words, “Is something happening?” And no, I didn’t need Google to translate that. I’m just that hardcore.

According to the attached website, we should be getting more information over the next week leading up to the full reveal on the 19th.

Hopefully, this time it will come it will answer more questions than it raises.
