Melbournians, rejoice! Thanks to the good guys at Madman and Anime Lab, during the first few days of September we’ll be able to bring out our inner weaboo, dust off our best Cosplay costumes and try not to go insaiyan when we see our fellow anime lovers.

Hosted at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the festival will welcome an array of international powerhouses, including Shingo Natsume (director of ‘One Punch Man’) and Makoto Furukawa (voice of Saitama in ‘One Punch Man’), as well as a panel of guests from the hit-series ‘Evangelion’.

Running on the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of September, the full schedule can be found here: http://www.animefestival.com.au/madman-anime-festival-schedule/

Single day tickets for the Anime Festival are $40, while a weekend pass is $60 – that’s a pretty sweet deal if you ask us!

If the standard procedure is a bit too mundane and normal for you, there are also ‘Madman MegaFan Passes’ available, but you better get in quick as there are very limited numbers. These passes are running for $290.

Our recommendation and pick for the not-to-miss event is the ‘Madman National Cosplay Championship Victoria Prelims’ held at 4pm on Saturday at the AnimeLab Arena. Go to this and you’re guaranteed to see some of your favourite characters in the flesh.

Will you be attending the festival? What are you most excited for? Let us know!
